Is it possible to pause video (canon t6i)

Is it possible to pause and continue capturing the video in canon t6i? If yes than how? If no than why?

Just press and re-press the red record button.

After we press the red record button video capturing end and after re press another new video start recording.
I mean to pause and resume recording in the same video,

That's is not how it works.  Any DSLR starts a new video file. 

[EDIT]  This is what post-editing software is used for.  To connect together a series of video clips into one file.
