I just bought n 80D and was excited with the possibility of processing RAW files (CR2) but all my photo programs won't import the files since they are not recognized. iPhoto, Photoshop, and Lightroom 5. I am running Maverick on my Mac. Weird thing though, Image Capture will import them. Any suggestions?

The 80D is a bit too new. It's normal for the camera RAW updates to lag a few months behind.
I see that Adobe only supports your camera if you upgrade to Lightroom CC. See: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/03/camera-raw-9-5-now-available.html
As for Apple, you can see a big difference between the updates for Mavericks:

vs. the updates for El Capitan (Mavericks is two full releases behind):

Although Apple hasn't released the Digital Camera RAW Update for the 80D yet, I'm fairly confident you'll find that you need to upgrade to El Capitan to get it. BTW, OS updates are free from Apple. Just launch your "App Store" app and check the updates and you should see it indicating that there's an OS update available for you. (Apple stopped selling the OS updates several years ago.)
