My camera has been a doorstop for the last year because the software which allowed me to download pictures no longer works. I can't seem to load the files to make it work properly. The original CD (the starting point) won't work with the software upgrades that have taken place after XP.
Any pointers? Hints? Software?
Thanks.

The easiest way is to use a card reader to download photos into your computer. You can buy one for as cheap as $5 on Amazon. I assumed you use Windows 7 x64. There is no 64 bit driver for Win7 for your camera. But if you change the camera communication mode to PTP you can access to download your photo directly. But some people reported it only shows JPG not RAW.
For Canon software, you can download latest version from Canon website to install. If you cannot use the original disk anymore, there is a work-around for the installation which can be found HERE. Good luck.
