How to get better picture quality with the r5 100-500

Looking to get better picture quality.  This is after processing and it doesn't look good when zooming in.  I see other peoples pictures that have a lot better quality more zoomed in with the same lens.  I am zoomed in at 500 mm and cropped after the fact.

Yea the shutter speed I had not learned that you can go to high but the iso would have been right.  It was really overcast in southern cali that morning.

With an exposure like that, 1/8000 sec, f7.1 and ISO 3200 under exposed 3 EV, it would be like 1/8000 sec, f/7.1 and ISO 25600.

I'll add my vote to strong underexposure.
Did you your other shots look?

Lower the shutter speed and that will low the ISO and that will give you less noise. Also, a little bit under exposed. Other than that, the picture looks sharp to me.
