How to cut the image files from memory card instead of copy them?

Camera : EOS Rebel T6s

I prefer having the memory card empty so I do not worry about whether there is enough space of the card when I am out shooting in the mountains.  It seems the T6s can only download which is actually copy the image files from the memory card.

How to cut down the image files from the memory card?

I googled for "Image Capture" and found the same as you have said.  No Image Capture for Windows.

Are you only using just one SD card when you go in the mountains?  Not a good idea.  ALso not a good idea to use very large SD cards. Four 16GB SD cards is a better idea then one 64GB SD card.

Thank you.  I always carry threee cards in my bag, all 16G cards.  I usually take at least 20~30 various shots for any one subject, just to be sure that I have at least one good image when I get home.
