Do you mean a built in flash?
Is the battery fully charged?
When do you see a flashing orange light? Where is it located?

Yes built in flash, near the name eso

I assumed that you meant to say EOS, not ESO. That orange light is not the flash. It’s the focus assist beam. It activates when you are trying to take photos in dark places.
the onboard flash is on top of the camera . It automatically activates only in certain shooting modes. It can also be manually raised
Press the lightning bolt button to manually raise the flash.

Flash still does not appear to fire on camera even in dark places, just the orange light flashes

I already have the flash raise and some how it doesn’t fire the flash

Samtovar302001,
Are you sure that your flash is on or has been enabled in your settings?
Are you in one of the Creative Modes: M?, Av?, Tv?, P?
Here is a troubleshooting guide you can check if your flash is not working:

what shooting mode are you using? It doesn’t flash in all shooting modes. Try using Intelligent Auto, as shown in the image below. Use the viewfinder,
If it still doesn’t work, then you should try to reset the camera. You may need to change the top shooting mode dial to P to make reset option appear in the menus.
Retest using Intelligent Auto Mode. If it’s still not working, then your camera may need service.

Put the camera in A+ mode. Make sure your lens is on it, and it's in Auto Focus mode. Go into a dimly lit area (not pitch dark), point the camera at a subject that you would normally want to take a photo of (a person or object - not the wall, the floor, lines on a piece of paper or a completely black room). In A+ mode, the camera is going to do all of the work. In MANUAL mode, YOU must do all of the work.
If you do this, and the flash doesn't work, call support so they can help determine if it's a misunderstanding of operation or a malfunction. Our team is available weekdays from 9am to 6pm (ET) at 800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666).
