EOS R50: Files deleting after card being put into a computer

Hello! I'm rather new to photography and had an issue arise when attempting to upload photos.

I put a SanDisk 64gb SD card into my computer and uploaded some files to a Google drive. After the upload was complete, all the files from the shoot were erased as well as the files up until now.

Completely unsure what happened and how to recover it (If possible). Thank you!

First, stop using the card. Next, see if the mfg of the card has recovery software.

BTW, long term storage of images on the card is just asking for something like this to happen.

Hello!

I'm using a Chromebook at the moment, along with a R50 model camera. There were no error messages or any messages saying they were deleted. As soon as I put the card into the camera after the upload they were just not there.

On Image Capture in the Mac there is an option to "delete after importing", there might be something similar in whatever you are using.

Since the files have been transferred, what do you want to do to recover?

I have had 2 photo shoots that were deleted on the card. Only 1 of them were transfered. The other photoshoot was erased but not uploaded to the Google drive.

When uploading, I selected the files and drag/dropped the files into the Google drive. I did not see a check mark to delete the files after upload nor have I ever seen that check when uploading any photos.

In other words, I'd like to recover the photos that I have not uploaded.

First, stop using the card. Next, see if the mfg of the card has recovery software.

BTW, long term storage of images on the card is just asking for something like this to happen.

I ended up getting the files back. I do appriciate your help. Thank you!

When you copy the files make sure you performing a COPY not a MOVE.
