When I use my R7 I develop eye strain. It becomes noticeable within an hour or two after shooting.
I love the capabilities of the camera but have become apprehensive about using it. This doesn't seem to happen when I 'm using my old Sony DSLR. So, I'm asking myself if I shouldn't revert to the DSLR world. My current thought would be to try to pick up one of the Canon models that I can use as a general purpose camera. My interests extend from landscape to bird photography. I paired my old DSLR with a Tamron 150-600mm and an 18-270MM and got some good results but couldn't capture flight shots very well. That was one of the reasons for moving to the R7.
What Canon DSLR product would you recommend (maybe from your experiences) to align with my current thinking?

Is the viewfinder diopter set correctly. If not it can cause eye strain. Usually when I get a new pair of glasses I adjust to make sure the viewfinder remains sharp and in focus.

Thanks for your response.
I believe that the diopter is set correctly but I'll check again.

If you wear glasses chances are it’s not set correctly. Sometimes I’ve added too much power without realizing. Then realizing later that I have eye strain because of that. It’s very easy to add too much power.

I doubt that you will get much improvement over your Sony in autofocus with any DSLR.
What is your budget?
Here is a comparison of the EVF's from Ken Rockwell:
R7:
0.39" OLED.
4:3 aspect ratio.
2,360,000 dots.
0.71 × magnification with 31mm (50mm equivalent) lens.
1.15 × magnification with 50mm (81mm equivalent telephoto) lens.
33º diagonal apparent angle.
Auto brightness control.
-4 ~ +2 diopters.
22 mm eyepoint.
R6II:
0.5" OLED.
3.69 megadots.
Up to 120 FPS refresh rate.
0.76× magnification with 50mm lens.
35.5º diagonal apparent angle.
-4 ~ +2 diopters.
23mm eyepoint.
R5 II:
0.5" OLED.
5.76 megadots.
0.76× magnification with 50mm lens.
35.5º diagonal apparent angle.
-4 ~ +2 diopters.
24mm eyepoint.
Clearly. the Rf Mk II is the best.

Thanks for the comparison. Maybe I should see about joining a camera club in order to try comparing models.
