I need help, I don't know what an **bleep** in Canon decided to invent new filw type CR3 and HIF, my software simply does not recognize that garbage, yes I use an old mac with old iOS and cannot download the Canon app just designed for newer OS. I'm very dissapointed with Canon engineers and company. I feel I waste my hard earned money in this piece of **bleep**. I never ever been change my trusted Sonys and Nikons camera in behaf of tis piece of **bleep**. What a mees and a loss of time. I really hate Canon products, sucks.

Anybody can give a tip to convert this pile of **bleep** files in old trusted .raw or jpeg files?? appreciate your help

Oh no, I'm not a Troll, in old days I'm happy owner of a Canon AE1 and a A1 35 mm film cameras, great cameras by te way, today canon cameras are totally mess designed for marketing idiots.

If he insists on using an operating system that went end of life in July of 2022, 3 years ago then he will have to shoot in jpeg.  Catalina OS does not include native support newer proprietary file types for Canon .CR3, Sony .ARW or Nikon .NEFX.  So buying a camera from a different manufacturer is just trading problems.

So what I got out of this thread is that it's ok for all of the other camera manufacturers to keep making technical improvements and advancements, but not ok for Canon to do the same as the others.  🤔 😶

No, the take away is that the manufactures should make improvements, just not the ones that inconvenience *me*.

Yes, good observation.  But, if the computer manufacturer is no longer supporting the computer, then software developers have no choice but to also drop support.
