EOS R5 Mark II: "HDR Mode" menu option from R5 went missing

The R5 (mark I) had an "HDR Mode" item on the Red Camera 5 menu. An HDR Mode (for stills, I can find the Movie one) seems to have gone missing in the R5 Mark II.

Anyone know what's up?

I've gone through the complete menu and manual without finding it or any mention of a replacement.

Thanks for the clarification about Touch and Drag AF — that’s very helpful!

As for the HDR photo mode:

Do you know if there’s any chance it might be reintroduced via a firmware update?

I’ve relied heavily on that feature for years in my workflow, and its absence is a serious drawback for me.

If Canon has no plans to bring it back, I’m honestly considering returning the camera.

Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

I’ve been using the R5 Mark II for about a week now and have shot in three different locations.

All of my clients have complained about the photos, mostly due to the lack of the classic HDR photo mode.

The results just don’t compare to what I was getting with the original R5 in terms of dynamic range, detail, and clarity.

This is a serious issue for my workflow.

I think this mode should be brought back.

I have mentioned that before the rendition of hdr, three images and blending it in camera as a jpeg, creates such nice color range that I could not replicate manually in LR, it is really nice, and I wish cannon, keep it.

Does anyone know what's the best way to petition that to Canon?

Firmware version 1.1.1 is out, but still no return of the classic HDR photo mode.
At this point, it really feels like Canon is no longer listening to its users.

This feature exists and works great on Fuji cameras, and honestly, I'm now seriously considering switching to Fuji.

My journey with Canon started back in 2007 — and sadly, it looks like that journey has come to an end.
