EOS R5 Mark II communication issue with GP-E2

Got the camera yesterday and there is a LOT new. One thing that is not working is setting camera time from the GP-E2 GPS receiver. The camera recognizes it, and shows the correct time and location on the GPS menu, but when you try to set the time from it the camera reports the device was not found...confused...anyone else tried this yet

You are probably the only person that has tried it.

R5MII just started shipping

I doubt there are many GP-E2's out there.

I suggest you call Canon. They usually have the equipment right there and can try it along with you.

thnx!!

Are you using the GP-E2 with the AD-E1 hotshoe adapter? Is the GP-E2 using the latest firmware?

They must be using the adapter:

Thanks for the help everyone! Two issues: FIRST, the hot shoe adapter AD-E1 is required. Second, the software must be updated, which appears to require a Windows computer and an interface cable (IFC-25AB I think, but that does not look like it will plug into any modern connection on a computer)...still chasing that part!
