EOS R5 Mark II When to use Distortion Correction?

Distortion correction is disabled by default on the r5 mark2. In what situations would you want to enable it?

I plan to only use the single lens I have which is the 24-70mm F2.8. 

I use Affinity Photo 2 to edit my cr3 images, should I use the "lens correction" (profile for my lens) and the "remove lens vignette" features? They are both enabled by default.

Thanks for your persistent and thoughtful participation!  It has been an interesting topic.  I'm not a professional, so I cannot speak to that world, but I dropped Adobe as only LightRoom Classic supports my "anti-cloud" preferences, and as I became more comfortable with the DPP UI after watching the training films.  I also resolved my performance - sorry its still slower for you.  So I get where you're coming from.  Plus I like the interface between Canon's DPP and Professional Print and Layout for the printer.

That is your choice. However, the fact you don't use it PS meaningless. The fact you don't like PS is also meaningless.  

Photoshop is overwhelmingly considered the industry standard for image editing, photo manipulation, and graphic design due to its extensive features, versatility, and widespread adoption. All big time  creative professionals expect you to know PS. There are college courses on learning and using PS.  Seamless operation with Adobe Illustrator too.

Now I am not talking mom and pop or uncle Bob down the street but the big guys all use PS and LR. Lots of stuff works so use whatever floats your boat but you don't have the best there is, if you don't have and use PS and LR.

If there is no profile then Lightroom will not apply it. So, was there a point there? BTW, using a preset you can have other things done automatically that do enhance your photos.
