EOS R5 Mark II Custom white balance direct from video mode

When i was checking canon R6iii i fogured out that it can do custom white balnce direct from video mode.

however canon r5ii i supposed to be higher and this feature shall be included , is there is any solution for it to do it on r5ii without going to photo mode and capture wb then go back to video mode.

if this happened on r5ii it would be a life saver

I'm not seeing any differences when looking at the user manuals for the EOS R5 Mark II and EOS R6 Mark III regarding custom white balance.

When you say you figured out you can be in video mode on the EOS R6 Mark III, where did you find that information?

I'm at a slight disadvantage because my camera has Cinema OS.  However, on the R5 mkII in video mode if you set the camera to M, you can press the Q button and set or select a custom white balance with up to five presets.

In my current canon R5ii when i'm in video mode to do custom white balance over 18% gray card , i have to

1- go photo mode do custom white balance on gray / white card

2- take photo of the gray card

3- go back to video mode

4- go to menu

5- assign the picture i took in photo mode previously in video mode custome WB preset

6- adjust / set video WB

in canon r6 iii direct in video mode from Q menu i can push delete button and boom custom wb is don direct in video mode.

In my case i'm an underwater filmmaker and doing all these steps UW while an object appers and you need every while to set your WB whenever you change the depth.

In canon r5ii you need to go to photo mode , set custom WB , take pic of gray card or white card, go back to cideo mode, allocate the picture to cWB mode, then you set custom wb

however in R6 Miii direct from Q menu press delete button and you nail custom withe balance from one place and 1 step🤷🏻‍♂️

Why does the R5 II still not have received a firmware update to allow a quick and simple way to white balance in video mode (Q button and directly selecting a custom area in the frame when using live view) like on the lower-end R6 mark III?

I don’t understand why such an option isn’t available for higher end products, why there’s no coherence whatsoever in the lineup and thus why Canon does not show some more respect to their professional customers who pay the high price for higher end products.

I'm really not sure of that, specially i have texted them , asked them on social media but no reply for them. 

for me as an underwater filmmaker , every second makes a huge difference. And capturing white balance in video mode with this long process, makes me rethinking as i lose alot of moment because of this.

even they don't pay attention for rare fields like this as i'm representing their products.

I am not surprised and it is an absolute disgrace, I too wrote them using the “feedback” button located on the top/bottom of their Canon USA website and NEVER got any answer, even just to acknowledge they read it. They simply just don’t pay attention to their professional customers, like you or me. seems like they are only happy to sell crippled cameras by design in the name of their stupid strategy and senseless segmentation, and don’t care about coherence and what their client actually need. All of my colleagues already switched to the competition, namely Sony and Nikon, and I am seriously considering selling ALL of my investments in RF lenses and bodies and going back there too, after ten years of trying to work with that ecosystem as much as I could.
