I want to program a button to quickly turn on/off the pre-continuous shooting mode but it doesn’t seem to be a programmable function. Has anyone figured this out?

Pre shooting is not a function that can be assigned with custom buttons.
You might try a workaround by having a button assigned to switch to a Custom mode and have that custom mode configured with pre shooting enabled. Alternatively you can use the my menu to add pre shooting to that and have the camera display the my menu initially for the fastest menu access to the feature.

I’ve got the Depth of Field button set to take me to My Menu, and as suggested I have pre-shooting set up in Custom 1.

Thanks, I’ll look into that.
Hopeful Canon can change this to allow it to be a programable button in an update. Having it on all the time creates an insane amount of pictures. Having it immediately available as a wildlife and bird photographer is incredibly valuable.
