Hi all,
Long-time Canon user - bought my first AE-1 in 1980 - but new to the R3.
I need some help with this issue. In Playback, when I hit the 🔍 button, I have it set to magnify to the focus point. When no focus point is registered (or displayed) it jumps to the upper left corner. Is there any way to set that to just magnify to the middle of the image?
Thanks for the help!
Mitch

From the EOS R3 menus it is a choice to magnify from the centre, or the active AF point. I suspect you have the AF point set.

However the third menu item "maintain position" is the magnification location for subsequent images. What setting do you have here?

Hi Brian
The third menu item is set to "disable". Should that be 'enable'?

Try it and see. As I understand it, when this is enabled the zoom will be from the same point as the first image you look at, rather than the location of the AF point for each individual picture.

it doesn't matter if 'maintain position' is set to Enabled or Disabled. If 'Magnified Position' is set to 'from focus point', it will zoom to the focus point... unless there is no focus point. In that case, it will zoom to the upper left corner, regardless of Maintain Position setting. I hope I'm making sense.
