Hi there, I've just swapped to EOS R10 from an ancient but much loved Sony Alpha. It's my own, but I use it semi-professionally for work on historic buildings. I often use HDR setting and wide-angle, when facing out of rooms, framing internal walls and bright windows in the same image. The HDR images register as .HIF on the memory card and the non-HDR as .JPG. To be honest this is a bit painful... Do you know, can I set the HDR to produce JPG? Our office secretary an honest, old-fashioned JPG person, not into the wonderful new world of HEIC and HIF.

Are you talking about HDR *Shooting* or HDR *Mode*
IT looks like HEIF is all you get for HDR Shooting:
While HDR Mode respects the HEIF/JPEG setting.

Greetings,
See the Image Specifications and file type reference in the R10's manual
Canon : Product Manual : EOS R10 : Specifications (start.canon)
HDR (.HIF) files have to be converted to .JPG.
Note, install DPP for her which will provide the control and conversion for .HIF files. Its free.
