EOS M50 doesn't connect to Mac or iPhone, doesn't focus properly

Coming back to my EOS M50 and still experiencing the same old problems
(why I banned it to the bottom of the drawer a couple of years ago): It doesn't connect via cable to my MacBookAir (2022 model), doesn't talk to my iphone13 pro via wifi, it doesn't focus properly.
Did anyone in the meantime maybe invent any apps or cables or tools that might make me connect the tricky thing and make me not wanting to throw it in the bin?

Just get a card reader. Your Air may have one built in.

Have you tried a new cable and image capture? Make sure WIFI is off when you try.

thank you, interesting idea - I've never used a card reader for transferring anything and have uploaded stuff from many other cameras and devices (just not the EOS M50).
