Hey everyone,
I recently came back from a Hawaii trip and took my cabin m50 with the 15-45mm lens. I was taking lots of pictures of the whole island water falls and ocean. I was on some rocks by the shore and I felt a splash of water hit me. I was holding the camera and later on realized some drops of water had splashed it. The following day I tried to take more pictures but my camera lens wouldn’t focus on objects. It only works when I have the zoom in to between 25-28mm. I tried resetting everything and messing with focusing modes thinking I changed something but could never figure it out. If anyone can help me with this it will be very much appreciated.

Water, and salt water in particular kills cameras and lenses. Sorry but this might be time for a new camera.

It's hard to believe a small splash would ruin it completely.
You really should have it checked before throwing it away! Did you notice any moisture inside the various covers?Try another lens first. If that doesnt solve it,have someone familiar with cameras have a look at it.
Last resort- send it to canon repair.Note this last one may have a minimum cost.At least that's how canon work in my country

What camera would you recommend in the same price range?

I'd take the opportunity to go to the R-series with an EOS R50 and the 18-45mm lens.
EOS R50 RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens Kit
