Hello 🙂

just this evening i put my hands on a canon 3000n and when i put 2 low voltage battery Cr123a at 2.5v the camera do that noise:

it's not very lound in the video, you need to put headphones and audio quite high to hear it, but live it's more loud.

i have a canon 300v and when the battery is low voltage and the camera don't even power on the camera don't make any noise at all !

is that normal or not ?

tomorrow i will test the camera using a new battery.

Have you tried removing the lens to see if the noise continues.

yes but the 300v with low battery don't make any noise at all.

with new battery just worked fine.

but is normal on that camera that when you do focus the center point I chose for focusing doesn't turn red like on more modern DSLRs and even on the 300v ?

I only hear the sound of the focus and it actually focuses, then I see a green dot that lights up at the bottom where the shutter speed information is.

If the camera is set to AI Servo the focus point(s) don’t light up. That is normal some of the higher end cameras have a choice to allow the AF point(s) to light up in AI Servo.

the only indicator at the bottom here that indicates focus ? that is the only one that show a signal when in focus, i don't think that camera have many options change for the focus.

I'm used to the focus point square also turning red, but maybe that doesn't happen with this model, on mine don't happen and i want to understand if is fine or not

It doesn’t the focus mode is preset based on the mode dial. But you can still choose focus points though.

Have you tried NEW 123 batteries, which will be at 3.0 volts or higher? Some cameras are more sensitive to batteries not putting-out their full rated voltage.
