Hi there,
I am looking for a DSLR camera with - lens ( focal length lens ..a range 35- or 80 -) 135mm
The DSLR camera must be capable of making RAW captures. It also must have a fully manual setting and focusing as well as program, aperture/shutter priority exposure modes.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

All of Canon's current DSLR cameras offer such features. Do you have a budget to spend a body or a kit (body + lens). Are you looking for APS-C(smaller than 35mm Film) or Full Frame (Same size as 35mm Film). The focal lengths you listed are Full Frame focal lengths but they can be used on APS-C cameras. DSLR cameras are interchangeable lens cameras.

Hi there,
I am a student so trying to keep things under $500. I believe I need a full frame though. I’d love to get a lot but am a bit overwhelmed at the choices. Thanks!

Is this Film photography (35mm Film) class or a digital photography class. Even used Full Frame digital cameras are expensive. Do you need 1 lens or more. Do you need an external flash/ speedlite. Canon's full frame cameras DO NOT have a built-in flash they require an external flash.

Here are 2 bodies and a lens that will work well. The Canon EOS 5D Mark II and the Canon EOS 6D for bodies. The Canon EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens will cover the focal length.

You don't need any such thing. Even if you did, you're not going to get a functioning full-frame camera and lens for under $500. You're not even remotely in the ballpark moneywise.
Get a refurbished T7 and kit lens as advised. If you are serious about photography, and starting from ground zero, the T7 will serve you well, and you will learn plenty. And along the way, you will come down to Earth in regard to what is possible and not possible to purchase for under $500. Enjoy the T7 and the learning process.

What is your budget?
An EOS R7 with RF-S 18-135mm lens would be around $2,000 total.

The OP's photo class requires DSLR cameras so a mirrorless camera won't help them. They also have a $500 budget to work with. So I came up with 2 possible bodies and a lens that will work well. The Canon EOS 5D Mark II and the Canon EOS 6D as potential bodies. Then the Canon EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens to cover their required focal length.

Since budget is a factor, I'd try to avoid near relic bodies. Ancient bodies could fail, and will essentially be throw-aways.
Beginner. T7 w/ 18~55 Refurbished $379
Shop Canon Refurbished EOS Rebel T7 EF-S 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS II Lens
Use the $$$ savings for memory card and spare battery. 2x 32GB Sandisk cards $20, Watson battery $60
Total is about $490 and he's shooting.
This will provide him with the essentials for learning the basics (exposure triangle) and completing the class. Full frame can come later.

The OP needs a Full Frame camera not APS-C. A Digital Rebel is out the window for their choices.
