Canon EOS RP locks up using a specific lens (Canon EF 24-70 2.8 L)

Started having this problem with my RP freezes up when I connect a specific lens (Canon EF 24-70 2.8 L) to it using the Canon adapter. When mounting the lens and turning the camera on, the screen will stay black and will stay that way when turning it off and switching to another lens. It’s not until I take the battery out for a short time and attach a different lens that the camera will turn back on properly. I have two adapters that both work with other EF glass. I have also updated the firmware to no avail. The only other thing I haven’t checked is mounting it to another body as I don’t have one. Does anyone have any other ideas or is my lens done?

How many adapters do you have?  Two or three?  Are they all made by Canon?

Does the EF 24-70mm work properly on an EF mount body?  If this lens is the only problem lens, are your other lenses EF-mount or RF-mount?
