Hello,
I just got my canon eos r10 not even a week ago. Today, for a school project, I shot some videos with it outside. It was quite hot and the battery did die mid-shoot. Up until then everything was fine, but once I charged it suddenly it started lagging in manual movie mode when the shutter speed was set to under 25. this is not happening in any other mode. I didn't drop it, didn't get it wet and had it in a camera bag. I reseted practically everything I could find in the settings. It's not just the preview that's lagging, it's also the actual footage.
Anybody know why and how I can fix it? Do I need to send the camera back to get it repaired?

While you can set your frame rate and shutter speed to any combination you want, the most natural flow of motion is if you set your shutter speed twice your frame rate.
Thus, if you are shooting at 25 frames per second, you'd set your shutter speed at 1/50. If you are shooting at 30 fps, or frames per second, you'd set your shutter speed at 1/60th of a second.
What frame rate were you using?
Now, a shutter speed of 1/60th carries the potential of letting in a lot of light, so some people will attach a 3 stop neutral density filter or use a small aperture to cut down on the amount of light entering your camera.
I personally use Av or aperture priority Mode to do most of my video shooting. On my camera (a T8i), when I choose any other Mode than manual, the camera behaves as if it is in P or Program Mode. Thus, the camera automatically determines the best shutter speed and aperture, and rapidly adjusts to changing lighting conditions, like going from shade to full sunshine.
That could be what your camera is doing too and that's why you are not seeing any lag in Modes other than Manual. I'd look at your Manual and see what it says about shooting videos in any of the Creative Modes like Av or Tv.
