I just got my EOS Webcam Accessories Starter Kit today and I have tried numerous things to get it to work, my firmware on my camera is up to date, the kit is compatible with my camera but when I plug everything in, my camera simply wont power up, is my product defective? Or am I doing something wrong.

I didn't realize that the battery door had to be closed in order for the camera to work, I had no idea my battery door had a hole in it for the plug to go in.
