Canon EOS 80D + LumoPro LP180

Hello, Canon Community!

My wife bought me an 80D about a year ago, and now I have LumoPro LP180 manual flash. I tried mounting it onto the shoe, but it says, "Menu not available. Flash is off or unsupported, or an accessory is attached."

The box for the LumoPro LP180 doesn't come with instructions or a manual, and the website doesn't have a user guide available.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you!

Regards,

Ruddy

Only ETTL flashes have menus. Does it flash when you take an image?

Yes, it does.

Then what do you want to know? That is normal for a non-ETTL flash. You will have to set the exposure and flash power manually.

"Could someone point me in the right direction?"

Yes, I can.  Buy a Canon ETTL-II flash.  Your life will be far better if you do!  Some off brand manual flashed can actually damage the camera. Check out the Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT.
