EOS 6D shutter stays open 5-10 seconds in Manual mode

I've used Canon cameras for over 20 years without issues. However, my Canon 6D now only works in automatic mode. In manual settings, the shutter fails to respond correctly and stays open for 5 to 10 seconds before closing. I've reset the camera to factory default and updated the firmware, but the problem persists. I would like to inquire if anyone has any insight into the current situation or has encountered a similar experience. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When you say "automatic" do you mean Program mode?

Can you write down the settings (aperture, shutter speed and ISO) that the camera is setting in P mode and adjust Manual to the same settings and see what happens?

Is your camera the original EOS 6D or EOS 6D Mark II. The EOS 6D Mark II has a 26.2 megapixel sensor not the original. Are you sure self timer isn’t on in the drive mode. For now set it to single shot for testing purposes. Also reset the custom functions. Custom Functions aren’t cleared during a Factory Reset. @jrhoffman75 I think when he says Auto Mode I think he means Green Square. In that mode you cannot set your drive mode. So it would make sense that the shutter could be delayed in the creative zone. The drive mode could be set to 5 or 10 second timer delay. Which isn’t possible in Full Auto Mode.
