Canon DSLR camera. Lines in photos.

In some photos there isn't a line and others there is with dots.

 

What am I doing wrong? This is my first time owning a nice professional camera and I'm still learning and I'll appreciate any tips. 

 

There doesn't seem to be anything inside my camara such as dust or hair so that's why I'm so confused. 

 

What's the best setting for outside in bright areas such as the beach. Thanks.

It looks like dust and hair on the sensor.

Use the sensor cleaning option to look at the sensor. If it is truly new, send it back for cleaning.
