Canon 80D limited settings options compared to others? Please help!

Hi everyone --

I ordered a Rode Stereo VideoMic, which I have connected to my 80D. The battery is in, the green light is on, and it's connected to the MIC jack on the side. The issue I'm having is, going through the tutorials, there should be a setting in Shoot 4 of Movie settings to make Sound Recording into manual mode. For me, I only have up to Shoot 3 (3 pages of settings vs. 5 in everyone else's video?), and my Sound Recording option is just "on" or "off" - does this mean I need to update firmware or I'm somehow limiting my settings? 

Any help would be appreciated, as I would love to start filming with this new mic!

Try putting the camera into manual or P mode. There is probably a "*" in the subject heading in the manual, that means you have to be in an "advanced mode" to see the option.
