I want to be able to see a grid in the LiveView screen in very dark light on my 7DII. With my 7D camera body, I can set the LiveView grid so that the grid lines are black, but turn gray and are visible under very low light.
On my 7DII, I can see the black LiveView grid with good light, but cannot find a way to see the grid (in any color - gray, red, etc.) in very low light.
Is there a way to set the controls to see the 7DII LiveView grid in very low light?

I looked through my 7D II menus and there is no option to lighten the grid, so black is what you get in all lighting situations.
However, you can brighten the LCD but the effect is minimal, at least in my tests. Give it a try, it might be just enough. I'm not sure how that would effect your perception of exp. sim. since I don't shoot in LV.

Thanks for your comments. I tried various brightness settings without success on my 7DII. On my 7D, the grid automatically goes gray in very dark settings. I am trying to see if I can use a lightweight zoom lens with a camera body on my telescope as a wide field of view zoom finderscope, as the telescope finderscope is neither illuminated or zoom, but fixed at 6x (300mm equivalent). I can also use the camera and zoom lens to line up the scope mount, and then replace the camera with the zoom lens with a telescope optical tube assembly. The grid would allow me to center the target in the image frame.
