I have a 430EX speeflite III and Canon R5.
In camera, I can not set flash functions from the menu screen as the camera tells me the flash is either off or not compatible. What should I do?

Try turning on the speedlite first then turn the camera on.

Dredging up an old thread, I know - but this is all my search turned up. I too am now experiencing this problem, with my brand new EOS R7 camera. I tried the suggestion that deebatman316 had, but still no good. Does anyone know what the problem could be? This flash functions perfectly with my EOS 90D.
Thanks!
