Can I charge Canon M50 without charger?

Hi

I forgot my Canon M50 battery charger.

1. Can I charge the battery by plugging the camera using a micro-USB?

2. How do I know that the camera is charging the battery?

Thanks!

NO you can NOT charge the camera via Micro-USB. Only certain EOS R series cameras support charging over USB Type C. NO EOS M camera supports this feature.

Not entirely correct.   The M6 Mark II can be charged with the USB ports.

This is only compatible with the LP-E6NH battery no other battery support this.

Really, this is not correct.   In the Canon EOS M6-II manual, on page 556, there is an explanation of how to charge the LP-E17 battery in-camera.   On that page, they  try to get you to buy a special canon charger, but from many of the forums on DP Review and other places, people seem to have the best luck with a single-purpose USB-C charger.   I charge mine directly from my Macbook 16" USB-C port as well as with specific.

Also, I don't understand your reference to an LP-E6NH battery.   We're talking LP-E17 for this camera.

But as a last piece of advice, if you buy a charger, verify that it works before you start traveling.
