Looking for a camera upgrade from my 2 yr old SL1

I shoot, in order of "priority"

Birds, in flight or otherwise, other wildlife

Landscapes

Architecture

Low light indoors (restored buildings, etc,)

I'm wondering which model, the 80D or 7D Mark 2?

Between the 80D and 7D2, each has features that superior to the other.  If BIF is your top priority, then 7D2 has long been the choice among birders, because of its’ AF system.  But, the 80D has a pretty sophisticated AF system, which features 27 f/8 AF points compared to just the one in a 7D2.

If you are out there photographing BIF, then you are in likely in dirty environments, and the 7D2 is better sealed against dust and moisture.  I suggest that you do some more research into the features of each camera body.

[EDIT]. Neither of those two bodies is at the top of my list for low light performance, although I would have to give the nod to the 80D.
