Hi Guys.
I have a serious issue with my camera, I don't know what is causing it but here's the problem :
My external mic gets disabled sometimes and randomly, I formatted my SD Card using the Camera and plugin everything in basic manner.
I have a straight video clips of around 1 to 10 clips working with external mic, but the next clips and the rest used the built-in mic while my external mic is still connected.
Here's my setup :
Camera : Canon 200D
Lens : Canon EF-S 10-18mm
Mic : Rode VideoMicro
SD Card : Kingston SDXC UHS-I U3 128GB
Here's my settings :
Resolution : 1080P / 30FPS
Audio Recording : Enable
Recording Level : Manual / 40% Volume
Attenuator : Disabled
Wind Filter : Disabled (Auto Off with External)

The voice quality is excellent and the background noise isolation is great.

Literally after pressing Record again - after Clip #1, the background noise and voice scrambled and it seems that it is the built-in mic who is working not the external.
I only record 2 to 4 minutes per clip.
I tried to remove the external mic entirely with its cable but still get the same issue.
When I format the card and rest the camera for around 24 hour, the external seem to work again.
This happened twice, like 20 clips are just fine, the audio is well - but then after those clips it is horrible, the external doesn't seem to work continously.

I don't know if it is the External Mic or the Camera.

Not my first or second choice for brand of memory card. Not even a close third, either.
But, assuming that your microphone is working as it should, I would suspect the microphone jack on the camera itself. There is a switch inside of the jack, that switches the audio to the jack that was just inserted. The switch could be wearing out, although that seems unlikely. Audio will usually get scratchy as the switch deteriorates. Failure is almost never sudden.
