I had one image from my wedding tonight that looked like this. The rest of the images were fine but I also put this camera away and only used my 2nd R6 for the rest of the night because it worried me once I saw it. The image looked like this on both of my SD cards and also through the viewfinder and once uploaded at home. Is the sensor going bad? What do you think this is?

Greetings,
One image, I'd suspect the card. It looks like a card write error.
To rule out the camera, 2 new cards, freshly formatted. Retest, put the camera through its paces.

Do you think it’s the card even though it wrote that way to both of my SD cards in that camera? I plan on testing out the camera throughout the week to see if it happens again but I’m definitely nervous to use it.

This maybe a sensor issue. You can replace both memory cards to see if the issue goes away. If not the sensor maybe at fault. Since the R6 is a mirrorless camera you should see the issue in live view and the EVF.

What should the photo look like? Is the issue limited to just a band across the middle portion of the photo?

Greetings,
Page 701 in the R6 user guide has the following info.
Record Separate, Record Multiple
With multiple selected, it appears that recording happens simultaneously > to both cards... (in unison) so it might be the sensor, but I'd still try new cards as I intially mentioned.
