Hello! Just received a Canon 7d and can't quite seem to get the correct settings. Pictures are coming out soft. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Using L lens, so don't quite understand what the problem is. Camera was given to me, for I was using a 20d, and Never experienced such fustration.

Welcome Chula!
What settings are you using that aren't working out? With what lens? Could you post a sample image so maybe we can see if the problem is focus, motion blur, camera shake, etc? As you know from shooting with your 20D, every situation is different, and there isn't one set of settings that works universally.

As the pixel count goes up technique becomes more important. A tiny shake on the 20D might have resulted in a 1 or 2 pixel smear but on the 7D it may be as wide as 5 or 6 pixels which might be the softness you see. Test the camera / lens combo using a tripod, and if that gives better results it's your hand holding. Best solution for that is increasing the shutter speed.
