70d flicks from manual focus to auto focus mode when starting up and from power save

Have not noticed this before but when I power on my 70d the top LCD screen displays manual focus for a second and then goes back into either one shot, servo, or whatever focus mode I was in earlier. Is this normal behaviour for a 70d? My lens is set to auto focus

I suspect that it's just an artifact of the way the firmware starts up the camera and reëstablishes the settings. Unless it ever ends up with the wrong setting,. I wouldn't give it a second thought.
