Canon 60D fails to power on!
Can anyone please advise me regarding a problem with my 60D, having removed the battery and placed the camera away working normally, a week later after refitting the fully charged battery the camera failed to power up.
I have eliminated the battery having tried two others from a friends camera.
I did read with interest about failing microswitches on the battery compartment cover and on the memory card cover but very gentle manual operation of these switches failed to bring the camera to life.
It seem rather odd that my barely 3 year old camera which has very little use was working fine when put away but fails to operate now and worst is that I fear that this may require an expensive canon repair?
For complete information I have never used third party lenses or batteries on the camera.
Any advice would be most welcome.
Best Regards
John Ratcliffe.

Does it power up without a lens attached to it. No cables attached to it, either. Nothing connected, just the camera.

Oh, my. That's not good. Check the eyecup. Make sure it is properly seated, and no foreign objects are lodged in there. Urgh, it sounds like a trip to the service department may be on the horizon.
