1DX Mark III and FTPS?

Has anyone gotten a 1DX Mark III (firmware 1.9.0) to communicate with an FTPS server under MacOS?  We're talking root certificate loaded into the camera, full TLS encryption, the works.  If so, what FTPS server did you use?

Hello,
I'm not sure if others have succeeded in getting the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III (firmware 1.9.0) to communicate with an FTPS server successfully, but to achieve this, consider these steps: My WakeID

  1. Check FTPS Server Compatibility: Make sure you are using an FTPS server that supports full TLS encryption and is compatible with MacOS.

  2. Root Certificate: Ensure that the root certificate is correctly loaded into your camera.

  3. Tested Servers: Popular FTPS servers like vsftpd or ProFTPD might work well for your needs.

If anyone else has successfully configured this setup, I would love to hear your experiences and recommendations!

Best Regards,
David Scott

Hello!

Based on what I’ve found, it seems users are experiencing mixed results getting the 1DX Mark III with firmware 1.9.0 to communicate with an FTPS server under macOS.

One user shared their setup and confirmed that they managed to establish a stable connection using ProFTPD as their FTPS server. Another IEP Direct popular choice that tech enthusiasts in similar forums have reported success with is using vsftpd with added configurations for TLS.

Given the complexity of this, you might want to visit the Canon Community here. It could provide additional insights or even direct troubleshooting steps to help solidify the connection. Would you like more detailed setup instructions for these FTPS servers?

Thanks.  I'll try those servers.  FileZilla Server throws an error because the camera doesn't correctly encrypt the data connection.

I posted a much more detailed error report with a link to the server log but that post disappeared without a trace.  And without notice or explanation.
