I want to do interviews using my 7D. I purchased an EF 50mm lens but it seems that I can't get far enough away from my subject/s to get tehm completely in the frame. After sepperating the subject from the background the maximum distance I can get away from them is about 12 foot. I know that my 7D is a cropped frame camera so therefore it increases the mm, is there a chart that I could use to determine the right lens to use?
Thanks in advance

There are also plenty of apps for iPhone and Android that can calculate focal length, depth of field, hyperfocal distance, etc.

Howard just try a 17-40mm f4 L. You will love it on the 7D.

thanks for the link. I'm not ready for a smart phone yet, still using the one on the same level as me 😉 Thank you
