Wow what a lens.!I have to get the 85mm f1.2 as well but considered the 50mm a priority. I am doing some extensive testing over the next couple weeks and will report back.

One word about the ef 50mil f1.2L, don't get discouraged.  It is not an easy lens to master but when you do, it is breathtaking.

This goes for the 85mil version as well. f1.2 is a challenge in an 85 mil lens. I mean!

Of course shooting stopped down, either is a joy and will present no problems except big and heavy.  Nobody buys a f1.2 to stop it down though.  Right?

Yeah, I had the 50mm f1.2 a few years ago. I assume its stiil at the bottom of the Thames! I've always promised myself to replace it, now I have.  You're right, not easy to master but worth it!  Stop it down?  Never!

Whoa! Smiley Surprised  That can't be good.

Well no. I was traumatised for the best part of a year after!

A year?  Is that all? I can hardly stand to hear you tell me.

I know! It was when  my wife said "get a grip" I thought I better move on!

I dropped my 85mil f1.2L on the concrete.  I still hear that sound.  It was two years ago.
