I got this 100mm Yongnuo lens for real cheap, I've been using it on my Canon 40D and everything works as it should however when I try to use it with an adaptor on my M5 the autofocus doesn't seem to work. I'll half press the shutter button and nothing will happen the autofocus motor doesn't move or anything, everything else about the lens still works.
I've seen videos with this lens adapted to the Canon M3,M50 and R bodies and they seem to work just fine, the only thing I can think of is maybe the cheap adapter I'm using (MEIKE MK-C-AF4) could be at fault? I've used the adapter with other canon and third-party lenses with no issues, would it be worth getting the official Canon EF-M adapter to try and get it to work or is it something else?

These cheap lenses area crapshoot. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't I wouldn't spend anymore money on trying to make it work. Save that money for a better lens. However it is all about your situation and what your requirements are.
