What's your first L lens?

So from when you got your first (D) SLR camera, when did you get your first L lense?

What was it and what did you have to sacrifice to get it?

70-200 f4, loved it, IQ good and was what I could afford then, recently traded in for the 2.8 IS II, I should've bought the 2.8 first place...

Another 70-200 here! Happy camper! Wishing more L lenses were in that price range.

35L followed shortly by the 135L.

Since my first camera (along with many others after it) weren't Canons I'll just give the time between purchasing my first Canon body (a used 5D2) to when I purchased the 35L which was 6 months (the 135L came 2 months later).

I guess the sacrafice would be the money it cost to purchase the lens, but while I did want it I also needed it to do my job.

I got mine 6months after. It was both the 24-105 and 100-400 at the same time. That has led to many more with the most recent 600II really breaking the bank!!

16-35 L II, 2.8 produces excellent bokeh even at 35mm, autofocus is quickest I've ever used

You have it all. Is that the end for lens?
I personaly keep looking for more.

17-40/4.0 L (finally replaced with 16-35/2.8 L II)

My own first L is the 70-200 2.8 IS II after six months on 60D. Three months saving up for this gem of a lens!

My 200mm Rolleinar MC 3.5 gets less used on the 60D and more on my 600D now.

For a long time at work had been using the 16-35mm 2.8 LII and 24-105 with 5D mk2.

The 24-105 f/4L. This would be my second and mine is a great copy. Enjoy this lens!

Regards, Will G.

My first L was the 70-200 f/4L... on a 300D digital rebel.
