Tamron Lens Autofocus/Tracking making noises!

Hello! 

I just bought a Canon Rebel EOS T8i after using a T3i for over 11 years!! I have this lens: http://tamron.jp/product/lenses

And it is a great one, but I am wondering if it causing the autofocus/tracking mechanism to be noisy while recording and be audiable in the playback mode after reviewing. How do I remedy that? I have tried an external condenser mic but it can only mask it if and when there is more outside noise like rain. Would a directional mic work? Or would I have to get a different lens? Can I change settings on the menu?

Any help would be great!

I would check with Tamron on noise level for this lens. AF is constantly tracking in movie mode when using Movie Servo AF. If you want a quiet lens look into Canon's STM lenses. These lenses are quiet during AF but not as fast as USM lenses.

I will try and get in touch with Tamron about that noise level! And it makes sense for the auto tracking to be constantly tracking in Movie Servo AF. What would happen if I used a different mode in movie mode? I will also check out Canon's STM lenses too and see which one I can use!

You only get 2 options for focus in movie mode. Manual Focus and Movie Servo AF.
