Greetings,
Up until 5 days ago... Midwest Camera Repair. They closed after 67 years last week.
If you have a mkI or mkII, you'll need to find a repair shop. I believe the mkIII is still under support by Canon.
Which version lens do you have and what city/state are you near. Corpus sounds like Texas? Someone might be able to make a recommendation.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I was saddend to discover that Midwest closed their doors as of 31JAN24. The lens is a mkl and not supported as you've mentioned. I am in Corpus Christi, TEXAS. I purchased this lens at Roosevelt baker a local photography/camera shop that closed early 2000s. Havel Camera in San Antonio closed in 2018. Closest camera store still is San Antonio and they too send their repairs out so figured Id cut out the middle man and send it direct. Repair shop doesn't necessarily need to be in TX. Looking for a good quality repair shop is all. Thank you

Almost all if not all the big camera retail stores in New York have repair facilities. Call B&H or Adorama or Roberts and several others.
