I was wondering if somebody can tell me what kind of lens to buy that so powerful where I can see craters on the moon

Thanks, Ron! I've always had better luck mounting various telescopes directly to cameras over the years. Long lenses are nice, but a quality built telescope often has superior optics.

You can get a half decent shot with a lens as short as 200mm but as you can see,even at 100% pixel view it's kinda small onscreen.
Other's suggestions of 600mm sounds good.
If you want to blow your mind, borrow a good telescope.When only 1/4 of the moon can fit onscreen it looks spectacular!
