Lens question: F2.8 lenses that are good for sports, low light, and close-ups

Hi. I’m shopping a new csmera entry level enthusiast as you know from my recent posts. Stuck between an R10 and an R8.

no matter the camera I buy,  but especially if I choose crop sensor Someone told me I should be sure to get a lens that is an F2.8 lens in addition to the kit lens.— that this lens is good for sports, low light, and close-ups—so would this lens on APS-C body compensate for the smaller size sensor?

Is full frame going to be obsolete in 5 years?

someone just suggested, if I need to contain the budget (check is not exactly blank) then get the R10 with full frame lenses.... so that I'd have the crop sensor camera until I can get a full frame body... and could get little bit of the best of both worlds... will be interesting to see what the vendor event delivers on that question.

That was me KMR and the 24-240 will work nicely on your R10 if you decide to go with that body. The FOV for that lens would be 40-385mm on a APS-C (crop sensor) camera. And down the road if/when you go full frame you will already have glass for the full frame body. A crop sensor APS-C lens, while it will work on a full frame camera the MP will be drastically reduce so the reverse isn't exactly true.

Full frame vs. crop sensor: Which format is best for you?
