Lens Filter for RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM

I am looking for a clear lens filter for my 15-35 2.8L lens. I normally run a clear filter on every lens then stack a CPL on top of that when needed, but I read somewhere not to use a UV filter?

You can use a UV filter if you want. But a polarizer might not be much use on such a wide angle lens.

Hello, and welcome to the forum!

Modern sensors do a good job of filtering UV, so there really is no reason to use a UV filter on the lens. Some folks use them as "protectors", but IMO it's best just to get a quality protector. I use the Hoya EVO Protector on my RF 15-35mm f/2.8L. It's not the most expensive, but it's not cheap and has impressive specs. It's low profile with front threads, so you should be able to attach a CP and not have to worry about vignetting at 15mm. I don't use a CP, so I can't confirm that.
