Laowa and DZOFilm cinema glass on EOS R5 Mark II causes artifacts on playback

I recently tried to use some of my cinema glass on my R5 Mark ii, specifically the Laowa 12mm and DZO 21mm and when importing my footage there were green flashing lines across the screen, pin holes and white flashes. The video plays back fine on the camera but when importing it to my computer on playback this happens. I tried resetting the camera, changing cards, and importing in different ways and nothing worked. I used to use this glass on my R5 but it doesn’t work with the new Mark ii. Has anyone else seen this happen or has suggestions? #R5markii

Try running the camera file through a transcoder/encoder to produce a new file. For example, Adobe Media Encoder offers an option to create a ProRes 4444 file (and countless other formats.) The ProRes 4444 is basically a RAW quality file and may produce a clean file free of the green lines and flashes. Try bringing that output file into your editor and see how it looks. Of course, you can use an encode setting that produces much smaller files as a test. Let us know if that works!
