I have a rebel t1i camera, but i don’t know if the Canon EF 70-200mm f4 L USM lens is compatible with that camera. If you know please get back to me. Thank you.

Yes all Canon brand EF & EF-S lenses are compatible with your camera. 3rd Party lenses made for the EF Mount may mount but the software MAY or MAY NOT be COMPATIBLE. It's up to the 3rd Party manufacturer to ensure compatibility NOT Canon. ALWAYS buy lenses from Canon Authorized Dealers or there may be a chance or Gray Market Gear. Gray Market Gear has NO WARRANTY and Canon has the right to refuse repair. Gray Market Gear is gear sold outside of it's intended region of sale.

Your T1i will work with any EF or EF-S lens, so it is compatible. Because of its sensor cropping the image from what is projected by the lens, what it captures will seem more like a lens 1.6x the posted focal length. So, your combined lens + sensor will deliver an image as if taken with an 112-320mm f/5.6 lens.
I have one of these lenses, they are really good optics, both the original and MkII versions.

"... they are really good optics, both the original and MkII versions."
Yes they are and I highly recommend them too.
The unnecessarily complex chart above can be summed down to Trevor's statement and is all you need to know.
"Your T1i will work with any EF or EF-S lens, so it is compatible." Just make sure you read the full name printed on the lens.
