Hi
So i just got a EF-M 22mm lens.
While testing in video mode i can hear the lens as it changes focus from
one subject to another.
With the kit lens 15-45mm STM i can't hear a noise...
Is the 22mm defective, are they supposed to make a noise, even though it's an STM lens?
Thank You

I have the same lens and it is completely silent. If you got it from a reputable store, I would take it back.

Yes, the EF-M 22mm STM is supposed to make some noise, but only just a little.
The EF-M 15-45 STM uses a quieter Lead Screw Type STM, and is virtually silent. The smaller EF-M 22mm STM uses the slightly noisier Gear Type STM. The gear type STM has some sound from the gears.
Don't expect the 22mm STM to be as quiet as the 15-45mm STM.
