Canon Autofocus Alignment service

LaneW

Have you used the Canon Autofocus Alignment service?  I dropped my EF 100-400, which I use on an R5 (didnt drop the camera) and I think my focus is soft.  I went on CPS chat and no one answered so am asking here.  What is the cost and what is the turnaround time on this service?

AFMA Autofocus adjustments don't work on mirrorless cameras. It's best that Canon inspects the lens.

Has anyone recently had the CANON PRECISION ALIGNM... - Canon Community

For mirrorless, Canon recommends sending both the body and lens.

Its only a guide.  Pricing varies by model.

If dropped it most likely is not just a misaligned focus that can be adjusted. The lens needs servicing and if it is the first version of the100-400mm I doubt it is serviceable by Canon any longer.
